The ultimate luxury item you can own is YOU!
There are a lot of people in this country who have deluded themselves into thinking they are "wealthy" because they have a lot of stuff - fancy cars, a house, a boat, etc. But they owe money on most of it, and as a result, have to work 40-60 hours a week to pay for it all, and never get to use any of it.
The one luxury item they don't own is themselves. Their own time is all spoken for, and even though they have a $5000 watch on their arm, they really are slaves to a job, to money, and to debt.
Is this really wealth? I think not.
The ultimate luxury in life is being able to say "I don't want to work today" and go fishing instead. And, surprisingly, people from all income brackets are capable of doing this, if they put their mind to it.
And if you think about it, when you retire, you will HAVE to do this, so you might as well work toward it as a goal.
Because it is a lot nicer than a new Acura!
